I got a letter from the Pension Service today this is what it says...
A CHANGE IN ACCOUNT DETAILS
Your account details have recently changed. This means that future payments will be sent to your new account...
Please retain for you future reference...
Can anyone tell me what they are on about?... I'm assuming by 'account' they mean my current bank acc that my pension is paid into.. but I haven't changed my bank acc and certainly don't have a new one.. the only thing I can think is that I was with A & L and thats now Santander , could that be what they mean even though nothing has changed regarding my current acc. I will be ringing them but just thought I'd ask... thanks for any opinions..

They are talking about the account details that your pension is paid into.
Why would they be talking about anything else?
Has the account number or sort code or anything else changed on that account?
If not, then clearly you will have to ring the pension people and ask them what they are on about, won't you?
There is usually aphone number on that type of letter.
Ring it.0 -
A&L accounts did get allocated a new sort code when they became Santander. Currently either sort code works but Santander may have notified the pensions people about the change and could be discontinuing the "old" sort codes eventually.0

I have an A & L account, now Santander. The sort code has changed, but I have not had a letter from the Pension service. Maybe it is still to come. Ring them up if this is not the case for you. Or even if it is, just to check the new number is right.0

Oh-oh! I'd ring them pronto and write. Don't trust Santander.
Did they give details of the account into which your pension will be paid?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

if you are with A&L then the Pension service are changing the sort code over to santander its because they are getting notificaiton from santander, you should of got a letter from santander but appears that a lot of people aren't so as a result only know when they get letter from Pension Service.
BTW Pension place only open monday to friday 8am-8pm0 -
Thanks everyone it was as suspected just Santander notifying Pensions but not me of the change of sort code.. my pension went in on time to the correct acc this morning ....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
