No they are different.
The M5030 range are based on AMD processors, while the N5030 are based on Intel. Depending on the specs, they could be equivalent performance - or could be much better or much worse.
You'd have to find out exactly what specs you were expecting, particularly the CPU or processor, and then what you have received. If the one that your mum has received is better, then it'd be worth keeping - otherwise you are within rights to have Dell collect it at their expense and exchange it.
Just let me know the full specs of both and one of us can look it up for you, no problem.
I can't tell you any more than this without more info, as within even a m5030 or n5030 you could be getting so many different specs:
Inspiron M5030
AMD™ Turion™ II
AMD Athlon™ II
AMD Sempron™
Inspiron N5030
Intel Core2 Duo
Intel Pentium Dual‑Core
Intel Celeron
(and within each of those again, you can have for instance one Turion that is faster than another, or a Core2 Duo that is faster than another Core2 Duo, etc)

The model she has been given is significantly worse than what she had paid for.
As spakkker said, both are fairly slow either way for a main computer. Is it supposed to be a lightweight, portable laptop that she'd take around with her? Or is it a heavier one that just belongs on a desk and is hardly moved from there?0 -
hi thank you both so much for your help it was supposed to be kept at home to use it came from pc world and was recomended for her i was also thinking of buying one but wanted to check my mums first.
i will tell her to return it so many thanks0
