in Credit cards
need further guidance for when(timing) to apply for 1st credit card never had any credit before, and only 2 weeks ago opened a bank account so i have zero track record and zero debt. Shall i apply now or leave it and is it better to apply at own bank or outside card provider cheers.

I'd be tempted to apply at your own bank but you've no history - I'd do it over the phone so you can talk to them. Might be better to start with a debit card and get a small history of banking usage. Make sure you're on the electoral register. But, everybody has a first card so you're not unique - you'll probably find they give you a tiny limit of £500 or so for the first 6 months...0

i really dont think you have a chance of getting a card right now, i know because i just on the credit wagon about 2 years ago myself, used to just apply for everything.
try and open a catalogue account with next or someone, buy one small thing, then pay it off on your first statement then they should report it on your file.
then youll have a history with your bank, theyll see how much is coming into the account aand how you handle it, and if they credit search theyll see youve made payments.
you could get one before i dont know, but from my experience id syay wait at least 6 months then either try your bank, or a sub prime lender.
make your your on the electoral register aswell.
im no expert on the issue, but thats what i have experienced0 -
