For anyone looking to come to Lincoln -and not necessarily just for the Xmas market! we have loads of good pound-style shops around
In the city centre we have a Poundland and a Poundsaver(loads of good bits in there at the moment). There is also a fab Wilkos, althogh I have bought up all their hamper baskets I'm afraid:D
If that wasn't enough for all you bargain hunters, there is stil the indoor market and a massive new Primark has just opened up this week...I'm exhausted just thinking about all the shopping opportunities !
Look forward to seeing you all in lovely Lincoln - we can meet up at the Ice Rink
HTHI was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -
^_^ I looooove Lincoln! Lincoln, Gainsborough and Louth... I could happily alternate between shopping in those towns forever... ^_^
I'm aiming to be in Lincoln before Dec 1st

Okay time to pick your brains... my mum is coming up to visit me at the beginning of december, going to go to Lincoln earlyish in the day and shop around, have lunch etc, and if it starts early enough on the thurs hopefully have a look at the xmas market. The question is where else is good for gift shopping in Lincoln? (and easily accessible - no car)0

Well in Scunny theres Poundland (opposite BHS), B+M/Bargain Madness (next to HSBC), Home Bargains (next road over, nr HMV), plus places like TJHughes which apparently has some good bargains.0 -
If you're planning a visit to Lincoln, they run a lot of buses to and from the Xmas market and you can pick up one of these in the city centre if you don't fancy the considerable)hike up Steep Hill. Not sure how to put a link on my messages
but there are a couple of websites which are fairly informative about the bus times and places for pick up - visitlincolnshire.com and lincoln.gov.uk
I think the market starts at 4pm on the Thursday (7th) and is usually packed on that first day so might be best to get there a bit early !
Lincoln is really easy for shopping as it's basically one long street with the occasional little street or square running off this. IMHO the "proper" shopping starts around Argos and runs right the way up to the bottom of Steep Hill - further up to the Xmas market is lovely but it is a tourist trap and can be very expensive.
If there's anything specific you want to know, just let me know - I promise I don't work for Tourist Information or the council or anything but as a dedicated MSE shopper, if I can help I will.:D
Enjoy your visit
