Can I Just Switch Back? - Santander Issue

Ok, I probably sound stupid here, but I am in the process of switching to Santander. Although they havent written to me I can see through online banking that they now have a few of my direct debits and standing orders over to them.
I DONT WANT TO BE A SANTANDER CUSTOMER
.
So is it ok for me to contact all my direct debit and standing order companines now, and ask them to change back before next month? or will Santander be able to stop that? I dont know much about this, hence the move to Santander in the first place

call up all your d/ds,tell them the account you wish them to use, tell them it is not to be changed without contacting you first and close the santander account.I have a deep burning indifference0

I have managed to change most direct debits back to Natwest, just 3 I have to leave until Monday. Now do I also need to contact Santander to cancel them aswell? I assume if the payee doesnt attempt to take them then obviously Santander dont pay out the money.
The only thing i know for sure is that my 3 standing orders with Santander have been cancelled did that online today.0 -

You could have asked Natwest to arrange the switch back :A
Make sure you have sufficient funds in both accounts to avoid going overdrawn:eek:
I won't ask why you wanted to switch to Santander :rotfl:"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I thought doing the switch back myself would ensure all went smoothly, spoke to Natwest and they said as the standing orders were never closed these will go through as normal and the DD's should aswell, as I have given the payee's plenty of time. It's just the TV licence people who say my next payment for April 8th will have to come out of Santander as they have already put it through (odd as Severn Trent have a payment on March 24th that I was assured by them would come out of Natwest).Natwest could do the switch back easily
Santander.. hmm
I have put £150 in Santander just in case and will remove it once I know everything is ok.
As for why I switched to Santander, it looked good, MSE rated it as number 1 for a current account BUT I had 2 dealings with them last week that put me off, £100 and 5% interest is not enough to be banking with those clowns!0 -
I suspect that the MSE rating also referred to their customer service "issues"0
