Broken Blender - Bought from Debenhams 15mths ago

Need some advice

i bought a kitchenaid blender from Debenhams website 15mths ago, but it has just broken while i was making one of the soups in the recipe book that came with it. the blender span off of the base and sliced off the blade base!. i have contacted Debenhams to try to return it but they say that after 12mths they are not responsible and that i have to to contact Kitchen Aid. i did quote that they as the seller are responsible for up to 6 years but they wouldn't have it. Am i wrong? do i have to go to Kitchen Aid? i was generally very disappointed with the blender, even before it broke so would actually like a refund, not a replacement.

How much was the blender? You are not likely to get a refund ... as you have had 15 months use of it .... after 6 months it is up to you to prove inherit issue with item, so you may need independent report.

If anything you will get a refund minus 15 months of use and the cost of the inderpendant report. After 15 months I dont think debenhams have to do anything unless there was a warrenty which may be with the manufacturer. I think the best you can hope for is a replacement from the manufacturer, If debenhams do refund it probably wont be for anywhere near the full value.
