2nd pc

thinking of getting my husband a netbook. was wondering if he would be able to connect to my internet server at the same time as me. i am with virgin media ,i use my pc mostly on wifi.

    Yes - if you have a wireless router/hub for your internet service, then your husband would be able to use his netbook on the wifi also (as long as the netbook has wifi capabilities of course!...which pretty much all of them have these days).

    I assume you mean "wireless access point", rather than "internet server". If so, multiple devices can simultaneously connect to a wireless access point, sharing the bandwidth between them. (N.B. Most routers have wireless access points built-in, but the access point can be a separate box in some cases.)

    An Internet server is something you would use to set up a website (a "web server") or to allow people to set up email accounts with you (an "email server"), for example.
