Car insurance fraud

I have a question about car insurance fraud.
I suspect that a friend of mine may be committing fraud. I do not know if they are taking the claim forward but i have seen emails from a company giving them details of their accident - this to me seems a bit fishy - why would someone need reminding of the exact details of their accident - when I say exact details this email contained the name of their passenger - what had happened, time of accident and was written as if telling a story.
Now obviously I have reported them as suspected insurance fraud but I dont have any evidence as I do not have access to the emails that have been sent I have just seen the emails to and from so I didnt give the IFB too much information because I dont know the ins and outs.
I want to submit another report to the IFB with a bit more detail but i'm wondering is it worth it?
Is there much of a case for proving this? Also I want to remain anonymous when reporting this fraud for obvious reasons.
I also wonder how they get away with using someone elses name - the person who supposedly hit the car their full name and address details were made avaialble along with the car registration of the driver.

Well if it was months or years ago, then many of us would not remember.this to me seems a bit fishy - why would someone need reminding of the exact details of their accident
If this is a legal team simply reminding them of their own version of events then I don't see anything wrong with it at all.
That's only simislar to writing it down for yourself.
um...yes, from what I'm reading it seems to me it could be all above board.but I dont have any evidence
I'm may be mis-understanding here so my apologies.I also wonder how they get away with using someone elses name - the person who supposedly hit the car their full name and address details were made avaialble along with the car registration of the driver.
But it's perfectly above board to take and report the name and address of the people that hit you.
Obviously you kow more than me and perhaps there are things you haven't noted in detail, but if this is just a case of a legal team reminding someone of the truth, then there is no issue whatsoever.
What basis do you have to think it's fraud??
Personally I would write it all down myself and keep details notes, but not everyone is as organised as that.
Perhaps they reported it over the phone and can't remember the details now.0 -
If I was using an accident management company, I'd think it would be normal for them to give me a written copy of anything they are going to use, particuarly any statement I made, and my description of the events.
I'd expect to see it, confirm it as true, then they could update me as the claim progressed, and re-check any further points on the way.0 -
Careful Mikey, are we agreeing :-))0

Are you sure about the fraud though, only do it if your absolutely sure,0

I'm pretty sure because the date of the accident was a day before this email was sent, why would you not remember a day after? - it was a vehicle recovery team and I googled them and couldnt find any address details.
It's fishy to me because this person has mentioned to me before that they wanted to write their car off because they would get more money for the car than it is currently worth and that they know someone who has done this kind of thing before - basically fake an accident and claim it on their insurance.
They will look into it and if it seems above board fair enough but i'd rather be doing the right thing then let this person get away with money in their pocket at the end of the day it's a crime and they shouldnt be allowed to get away with it!0 -
If you make a report to the IFB(or in your case make a further report) and give us much information as you can, they will do all they can to ensure the relevant insurer receives the details. It is not appropriate to go into details here.
The Insurer will review the information impartially and establish if there is any EVIDENCE that the claim is falsely submitted.
If you pass them all the information you have to them then you have done all you can if you wish to remain anonymous
