As above im in need of a people carrier due to expecting twins. I have a 2.5 years too and a 14 year old.
We are hoping to put the twins and my 2 year old all on the same row of seats so would like any help with with cars and seats that can do this PLEASE
My 14 year old stepson can sit in the back row that fine we only have him weekend but dont really want to stick my 2.5 year old on his own right at the back.

we've got an 02 plate reanult espace Race edition.
It is brillent. in the 3 yrs we've had it not had a single prob , well last week batt was flat but that cause a light got left on. It has the highest n cap safety rating of it's class. very important with a family. there is lots of leg room and space. All the seats removed with ease so you can configure it to how suits. although it is a 7 seater, as u wioll onyl have 4 children u could removed one the back seats store in understairs say and give you more boot space.
It is so easy to pack , although i call it my bus, it does't actually feel like a bus. i just say it as i never thought at 26 when we got it i'd be driving a mpv :rotfl: one of the best feature i've found is when ari con is on your can flick a stiwch in glove box and it becomes like a cool box. excellent for babies bottles in the summer.
we paid i think £7 or £8k for ours 3 yrs ago, ours had full service history, everything was really looked after and only 20k miles on clock, but you can pick them up from around £1k up to what ever suits your budget. the newer shape is also very nice, i think thats from about 08 onwards but not sure .0 -
We have an S-Max and the middle row of seats are each a full sized seat. You can only access the back row of seats by climbing over the middle row though, unless you hve one seat folded down first and then put it back up when 14yo has climbed in. The boot space isn't too bad, when all 3 rows are up, but then I'm not trying to fit in a double pushchair too. Each seat is independant of each other, so you could possibly use some space for luggage on the folded down seat on the 3rd row.
We used to have a Touran. That has less boot space than the S-Max, and a 'tunnel' on the floor of the middle of the 2nd seat, though this wouldn't be a problem for many years till the kids grew tall enough for their legs to reach the floor. Again each seat is independant of each other. I once sat in the back row of the Touran and I didn't find it comfortable, more of a child's seat than an adults, not width but it felt very thin. I've never sat at very back in S-Max so can't comment.
Both cars the seats fold flat, so you don't have to remove and store.
We borrowed a Zafira to go on holiday with. These are/were? cheaper than the other 2 I've mentioned, but the middle row 2 seats are on a frame, so when you are arranging those 2 have to be moved together, rather than each being independently-iyswim. Can't remember boot space.
Next time DH changes his car we are considering a C-Max. I've not looked at one other than in a picture, but it seems that the middle seat on the middle row is not a full one. Which would possibly create problems with 3 car seats?
I'm sure other people will be along to suggest others. My suiggestion would be to see what people on here say, short-list according to your requirements from that and then go look at them at the car dealership.0 -
We've got a Galaxy, which is a little bit bigger than the S-Max. The back row has full-sized adult seats which can be folded individually into the floor of the boot - if you only needed one of the rear-most seats then it's easy enough to get into it via the boot.0

I have two sets of twins and have the citroen c4 grand picasso cant fault it very spacious. Seats are nifty slide back a fourth for variable leg room. Three seats in middle row, and two at the back. Even with all seats up, i can fitd ouble pushchair, and plenty of shopping in.
My partner has the S-Max too,, plenty of room again with three seperate rows. xmum to; Two Boys (Non id twins)Two Girls (Id twins)0 -
VW sharan/Ford galaxy.
We have 4 kids, I have a VW sharan and its a 7 seater. We take one seat out (middle row, passenger side seat) to make it easier for me to get in and fasten everyone in, it also makes a handy luggage space. You can take any of the seats out though. Only downside is, the middle seat on the middle row is a lap belt only, but as its a 7 seater, you dont have to use this. You can even take it out.0 -
We've got an 06 plate Zafira - depending on the car seats you can get 3 across the back seat but its tight. That said that is with seats for 4-6year olds - baby seats tend to be smaller.Adventure before Dementia!0

Erm.. a bit vague just the car seat layout. A lot depends on what age/cost/fuel/gearbox/new/used.
If you can find one on budget a Honda FRV is great. 6 individual seats 3 in front 3 in back. Honda reliability and still a decent boot with 6 onboard. Looks great, drives fine, keeps its value (sadly they stopped making now), downside just have to get used to driving something a little bit wider.

i know , but it was over 3 yrs ago and i was preg, lol.
forgot to say with ours as someone said about the car seats being a squeeze in middle row.
we fitted 3 car seats in our middle row with ease. but i found it easier to have the baby on the seat closest to a door, as i found it alot easier when clicking the seat into the base and sorting out the seat belt.
also the windows are all tinted , so fantastic in the summer and each window has a built in sun screen viser which you pull up and hook into place. excellent. old car we used to use the sucker on one , nightmare as kids always pulled them off. and were never quite big enough to block out all the sun round the window.0 -
Been out today to look at a mazda 5 we love the look of the car really nice and we are wondering if anyone as seen these. The middle seat in the middle row is very narrow. Wondering if we can get 2x 0+ group car seats at either side and a booster seat in the middle. Hoping we can purchase a slim booster and thats all our problems sorted£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110
