Praise - HSBC

Just wanted to say what a good idea it is for HSBC to have a free coin sorting machine in their branches.
I always end up with loads of change and put it all in a bottle. I've been to HSBC and deposited it into the coin sorting machine and it was £167.57 which is then put into my account.
If I'd used the machine at my local Asda, it would have cost me over £11 to change the money.
Thanks HSBC. :money:

Didn;t know they have that facility, but I think HSBC is a good bank anyway - as far as banks go0

The Coinstar machines in supermarkets usually charge a commission to cover the cost of the machine. Some larger branches of NatWest and Barclays have these machines as well.0

They all charge. We looked at the one in Tesco. Doesn't show a fee anywhere until you are about to put your money in. Don't remember the %age but it was far better for me to count it into coin bags (which the amusement arcade love to take - saves queueing to pay in)
What I want to know is: Everywhere I shop I pay by card. I take cash out of the ATM for "walking about money" but never spend it as OH invariably pays.
How then do I end up with a purse of change by the end of the week?
I don't buy papers, magazines, chocolates/sweets etc...0
