Thats not how I was sold it like - 43p per KW for 25 years if pre March 3, otherwise 21p KW after deadline?
Then you have been mis-sold your pv system and should report it to REAL. http://www.realassurance.org.uk/fit-changes
Sales registered between the 12th Dec and 3rd March get 43p until 1st April and 21p after for 25 years (+rpi) unless the government lose their appeal in which case it will be 43p.

... and if the Government lose the appeal there's always the possibility that they will simply retrospectively move the effective change to the end date for the consultation period.
The government are appealing the judgement that the cut-off date was illegal because it was prior to the end of the consultation period, their position being that the tariff change date was set after the end of the consultation, therefore the change is simply the same as the chancellor making changes to tax rates from midnight on budget day even though the support of parliament hasn't necessarily been granted at the time which the change comes into force.
If the government do lose the appeal there'll likely need to be a review of quite a few pieces of legislation and the legislation process itself, so I'm pretty sure that this is actively being explained to the relevant legal bodies, however, the likely date of the tariff change would be immediately post 23/12/2011, this being the consultation end-date (http://www.decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/consultations/fits_comp_rev1/fits_comp_rev1.aspx).
It must also be recognised that the challenge to the rate cut date set was that it was 'premature and unlawful' and the court allowed the case to be heard on the basis that the cut could possibly cause 'economic risk' to the solar industry ... this view can now easily be counter-challenged by the government by simply raising the continuing cuts in material prices between the beginning of the consultation in Autumn 2011 and the tariff change date in Spring 2012, along with the speed which the industry has been able to react and reduce their pricing structures ....
Considering the above, I wouldn't be too confident if assuming that there's a more than even chance of receiving the higher rate FiT on any system installed in 2012.

Yes it is a right old mess, similar to Gordon Brown's attempt to abolish the 10% income tax band.
I am not sure that the creeping "retrospective" legislation, being used against Barclays Bank isn't the thin edge of the wedge.
Meanwhile over in Greece, where 75% of investors money is being stolen, we have the interesting concept that this is not a default.
Where did this 03march12 date come from?
Finally for anyone trying meet the 03march12 deadline, British Gas accepts email applications.0 -

Anybody know if ScottishPower do - reading their website they say not, but I called them up today and asked and they said they do and gave me an email addy - but that was the general call centre, the microgen line closed at 4pm, 10 mins before I got all my docs/certs from the installers. If not looks like i'll be driving upto Glasgow tomorrow
Edit : Scottish Power don't take emails, British Gas however do and were happy to take my FIT application via email without being a customer of theirs0
