RBS and CPP PPI on one card.

Options
Hi I'm new on here so apologies if there is a similiar thread.

I recently cancelled my CPP payment protection payments on my RBS credit card with were £35 per month.

I have now noticed by going back over previous statements that I was paying for two lots of payment protection.CPP at £35 a month and I presume RBS around £20 per month.

I have noticed this as I thought i'd cancelled it but then I'm still paying for the RBS one.

Looking back this has cost me hundreds of pounds. I have had my card for many years and can't even remember if I got it online or what I signed.

Has anyone else had this? Is it usual to be paying two lots of payment protection. The card only has a £2,000 limit. So imagine £50 per month just for PPI on top of interest.
I did pay the card off in full last August but am still using the card.

I would like to try and put a claim for this in and have just had a look at the re-claiming section on the website but it just put me off as there seems to be a lot of work involved.
Feel like I've been robbed a little.

Would I have a claim?

  • Just to add

Just looking through very old statements. It looks like the CPP payment only started to get taken out in 2010 and I've had the card since before 2004.

I did take out a loan with RBS but am not paying PPI on this well at least I don't think I am?! it doesn't show on the account but am sure this must have been sold to me at the time. Could it be that its been taken from my credit card by accident?
  • Bumping this up because I've just spotted a similar thing on my LV Victoria statements (looking for PPI)
I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!:o DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
    PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 2

Already answered you elsewhere. The OP hasn't visited this website since March 2011 so I don't believe he'll read ( or need) the answer.
