My Tesco doesn't even seem to sell it and customer services were not very informative! I should have looked before buying the paper:o

You got the Corned Beef and was refunded your payment.

RE:"only available in participating stores" - I understand that just means where the product is stocked -which appears to be just about everywhere. (Does say "where stocked" on the coupon)

My local Tesco PETROL STATION shop (only about twice the size of my living room) would have given me mine but sadly had ran out by the time I got there this afternoon.
Due to lack of shelf space (only room for 6 or 8 cans of Red Lion on display) they apparently had extra cans stacked up at the counter and were offering them to customers who were buying the Sun newspaper.

So instead I called at the small Express on the way to my father's.
This time there were tins still on the shelf BUT, just like the petrol station, the SEL price was £1.94
The coupon barcode (ending 1862) reflects the advertised value (as per Sun's front page) of (only) £1.86
I asked at the tills if they were accepting the Sun coupon (waving one in my hand) for the FREE corned beef - they said "Yes" - I said "Full price? Coupon's worth £1.86 but yours is more than that"
"Yes - NOT A PROBLEM - It is free - bring it here and we will put it through"

Picked up my FOUR tins, back to the counter, handed them over with 4 coupons.
SA scanned the tins and did a manual coupon input - he did check with the manager/supervisor that he could do a "multiple redemption" rather than individually which she said was OK.

4 tins for nowt (my newspapers were "free" :cool: )
I'll get another 3 tomorrow :rotfl:

My Tesco didn't appear to have them on sale . There wasn't even anything on the corned beef section that suggested they had sold out - so it looks like they don't stock them everywhere. Normally, when something has sold out, there will be an empty shelf with a label for the item. There was no empty shelf - just lots of tins of Tesco, Princes etc corned beef. The customer services desk wouldn't tell me whether they sold them or not. Obviously I should have looked first before buying the paper but I'll put that down to experience:rotfl:

How do you propose getting another three tomorrow when they are obviously out of stock everywhere?

When i went to Tesco for my Corned Beef the Tesco Express
would not take it at all as it did not scan, then they tried to
type in the barcode manually, but still no luck.
Later on at the big Tesco Superstore it still would not scan
or go manually but the girl called over the supervisor when
I said it was wrong to advertise in paper if not accepted,
so the supervisor said just put it in as a unscanable barcode
another case of 1 store against anothers rules or could not
care less attitudes instore

Wrong!!!! They took the Corned Beef back and gave me the refund. That's why I feel cheated:mad:

Still in stock at quite a few places around here

I'd have picked up all 7 :rotfl: in one go but didn't want to chance causing an issue with "over redemption" (especially since the coupon is valid tomorrow) and thought I should leave a few more on the shelf for others for pick-up today.
Any left at the Express tomorrow are FAIR GAME
If they've gone there's a Metro with plenty in stock that I can easily divert to whilst doing an errand I'd planned for Sunday - so it wont waste me any time, effort or petrol to collect them

I read Jemma1's as (since she said "not got a coupon NOW") that her visit to CS was to hand over the MOC to get her money back AND KEEP the corned beef.

Did you ask CS to redeem the coupon ?

I did hand over two MOCs at CS and got my money back for both and kept the Corned beef . CS almost had the money ready for me before I got to the end of my story so think they knew about the scaning problem.

Yes, but they said the manager had told them they were not participating in this offer so they could not honor it.

I then asked for a refund. I should have also asked for a refund for the Sun:D

This was a normal Tesco Store not petrol or Express just a normal store.

Why weren't they participating? The stores profits down perhaps because to many people have been using vouchers:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have filled out the https://www.tescocomments.com link but I am not holding out much hope of getting any reply. I still feel cheated:mad:

The first Tesco Extra I went to didn't stock it at all. I went back this morning while they were stocking shelves and one of the staff said she didn't think they sold it but check with CS. I went to CS and this time they confirmed that they don't stock it. A petrol station and Tesco Express didn't stock it but that didn't surprise me. I went to another Tesco Extra and somebody in front of me got the last one! :rotfl: If the CS at the first store had confirmed yesterday that they didn't sell it I would not have wasted my time going there this morning - would have got to the other store while they still had stock:mad:. The deputy manager at the other Extra said it was ridiculous that Tesco puts out a voucher without sending extra stock. He said he'd honour the voucher when they had more stock.
