Cooperative Car Insurance - Doesnt Ask For Employment Info

I've done a quote with CIS cooperative car insurance but unlike any other insurer i know of it hasnt asked for any employment details?
Is this normal for Coop? - do they not take occupation into account.
The reason i ask is i'm expecting to change jobs and normally you have to call up the insurance company pay an admin charge and the premium is adjusted etc but if coop dont ask then presumably i wouldnt need to tell them during the policy if Ive changed jobs (providing it wasnt one of the excluded jobs on the assumptions list like tv presenter) and therefore no admin fee or policy adjustment ?

Co-op do take occupation into account - all covered by their assumption which you must agree when asking for a quote:
All drivers of the vehicle, including you, do not have any of the following occupations (including part-time):- Fairground worker or showman
- General dealer
- Non-UK armed forces or diplomatic personnel
- Performer or presenter in films, TV, radio, music or other performing arts
- Professional sportsperson, manager or coach
- Scrap metal dealer
- Street trader
- Vehicle breaker or dismantler
If you subsequently change to one of these occupations you do need to inform them, when you can expect them to cancel your policy.0 -
When they do ask me my job, they never have it listed anyway, and it gets REALLY annoying when you're attempting to guess what options are available when obtaining quotes online. Either list every profession on the planet (unlikely), don't ask at all, or just have a check box to say whether you're one of the higher risk professions mentioned by Quentin.
Unless you were moving into one of the fields mentioned above, I wouldn't bother phoning them.0 -
Thanks for the replies
My mistake - i meant aside from the ones listed in the assumptions they don't seem too fussed about what you do - i thought it was an error as normally i seem to be spending ages on insurance forms because they try to pin down exactly what i do. I thought coop's form might have an error or something so was just checking :beer:0
