Spa weekend- Where is good - any deals?

I want to take my wife away for her birthday. Just the two of us whilst grandparents look after nippers. My knowledge of spa hotels is limited. I see deals on travel zoo etc but i'm not sure the hotels are that special.

Please let me know of any hotels you would recommend or if you know of any deals.

Thanks for any help.

Hi where are you based and how far do you want to travel?

I can recommend Pennyhill park in bagshot, I went there when they first opened the spa on a deal, and would love to go back but out of my league at the moment.

There are also a few based in the new forest.

I'm near Coventry and Birmingham in Midlands. Would travel up to 2 hours.

  • I would recommend Ragdale Hall, best spa I have ever been to, its in Melton Mowbray so not too far but it can be a bit pricey (there is a promotions section on their website though)

Titanic in Huddersfield is nice, but might be a bit far for you to travel, but they do have a 1 night stay for £99 for 2 people at the moment (lastminute.com)

Check out Lastminute.com, who have a whole 'spa' section, my advice would me to avoid 'spa hotels' and go for a dedicated spa and at all costs avoid the Barcelo spas on the site, they are literally hotels with a swimming pool & not really what you have in mind I don't think!

Think the metropole in Llandrindod Wells would be about in your travel time and they have a deal on Travelzoo at the moment, another one is Lake Vyrnwy but you need that to be a good travelzoo deal as it is very expensive. (Very nice, though.)
