Ive just changed my 'orchid' settings to route mobile calls via 'discountdial'
0844 566 3 566, i have the orchid dialler dial the following number: 1280 0844 5663566
if i dial a mobile number i get the recorded message stating 5p per min, but then im asked to dial the number i require followed by the # key.
Is there a way to set the orchid dialler so i dont have to re-input the phone number again ?
thanks

The 12800844xxxXXXX number is the gateway you have programmed your Orchid to dial as a 'prefix' (routing) for any 077, 078 or 079 number you dial.
The Orchid cannot possibly know which mobile you want to dial - unless you then dial it.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I understand what your saying, however if i dial a mobile at the weekend the orchid uses 18185 and the orchid dialler dials 18185 then the mobile number i have entered.
Why is this different to dialling 1280 0844 5663566 then the mobile number i have already typed into the phone ?
thanks0 -
I think there should be an option in the orchid setup to dial 1280 0844 5663566 then pause a while then dial the mobile number already entered in the phone handset.
Is this possible ?0 -
That's logical but how long is the pause and wouldn't the number of digits (11 for the 0844 grateway number, however many for the 'pause' and then 11 for the mobile number) be too many?Jon_S wrote:I think there should be an option in the orchid setup to dial 1280 0844 5663566 then pause a while then dial the mobile number already entered in the phone handset.

I dont think it would be too many, i phoned a mobile number this evening, in the orchid rules the dialler dials 1280 0844 5663566 then it could pause like it does when using 18815, then it could dial the mobile number already entered.0
