Dipping bed problem

We bought a super king size bed oct 09 and paid £1400+. Buy June 10 the bed had dipped where we each lay leaving a hump down the middle of the bed. I had it checked by a chap armed with a stick and his clenched fist. Results came back that it wasnt a fault. Ive emailed you bed manufacturer who had referred me back to the store and they still claim its not a fault.
Any advice? Im at my wits end:(

probably isn't. You'll get this sort of settlement with expensive beds. If it is extreme there might be something you can do, but you'll need to prove that there is a fault.0

My arguement is the way they tested it. A chap came and put a stick on top of the bed and if his fist fit in the gap then it would be classed as a fault. Ive never heard of a "fist" measurement.0

no, but these things are subjective. It's as good a test as any, i'd have thought.0

That doesn't sound like a £1400 bed to me. Did you look up the mattress specifications first?
Mattress specification comes before ANY other aspect, regardless of what it looks like...... £1400 ?? With a built in sauna and massager??0 -
£1400 for a 6ft wide bed, is not that much. Yes it's more a top end bed but you can easily spend more then that.
Sounds like settlement of the fillings, which happens more and quicker with (sounds daft but) a better quality product.
Do the test that he did but use a ruler, put the straight edge over the humps and measure how much it's dipped by. 1-1.5inch would be about the normal.
Also is this a turnable mattress? If it is have you really turned it as often as you should? Once a week for the first 6-8 weeks of it's life then once a month after that.
Settlement of the fillings is no different from walking on the same bit of carpet all the time. Do you expect carpet to look the same all over after 18 months ish of use. Lift up the furniture and see the difference between carpet walked on and not.
The question is, is it over settlement of fillings?Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Who is the maker please?0

OP, maybe you need to hire your own expert.
Just an idea.0
