I was staring at my site Google Adsence adverts when I notcied that this website was on it. Is it a fan of the site doing it?

I think Martin said a while back that they advertise on Google to make sure MSE is top of the results.
So the site is add free - But advertises itself elsewhere0 -
I do some very minor advertising on ad-words. My aim is that in areas where others dont advertise (ie train fares) and there are articles on this site, to pay 1p or 2p per users clicking through works quite well.
The site has the big advantage that google has reworked its ads so that if the ad takes you to real content that the ad relates too (ie if you have a cheap train fare article on the term cheap train fares) you get placed higher up the tree. Thus its very efficient here, because I always put ads directly to the article.
I had someone look at my (very) small budget the other day and they were gobsmacked that I was generating a few thousands clicks a day, but paying peanuts for it. The power of the brand (and if Im honest my media presense) means we have a massively higher click through rate than most Google ads, and thus it works out well.
