Best Credit Card for Person with £39 default

Hello!
Wonder if anyone could help!
My friend has an almost perfect credit file with no late payments on her mortgage, loan, car finance, credit card etc however she managed to default on a Next Directory account to the value of £39.
She didn't realise what effect this would have on credit file until applying for a loan and having to make it a joint loan due to her poor credit rating. The default was issued Nov 09.
Now, she has a 2 credit cards (a store card with only £120 balance with Santander) and a credit card with MBNA (£2500 balance).
Does anyone know of a credit card she would be accepted for despite this very small default? I have put a notice of correction on her credit file for her and have written to Next asking them to consider removing it (no response yet though).
Was going to phone up Santander to see if they would be nice enough to give a promotional rate so she could transfer some of her balance but she's still be left with £1000 on MBNA.
Any ideas anyone?

Unfortunately don't matter if the default is for £1 it is the worst thing along side a CCJ and bankruptcy to have on your credit file.
You will have no chance in a million years to get accepted for a promotional rate card with a default.
You are now classed to a lender as high risk to lend to.0 -
Seems a shame but as has been said despite it being a small amount a default is a default.
When I was much younger I nearly had a default for the sake of paying £4. I just thought waste of time sending a cheque for £4 wait till next month. In the end it took a red letter and a threat of passing to a debt collector, before I thought I'd better pay the full amount off.
Can't believe it now, but quite ridiculous as I got missed payment charges and my credit file must have been well and truly stuffed as well.0
