The starbursts at night after laser can be corrected with a procedure known as "wavefront" which any decent laser advisor will talk you through should you opt for laser eye surgery.
Ortho-K, I have tried this but it's a rigid lens and I managed to get a scratched cornea which got infected and !!!!!!ed my left eye because of it for a while so I'm back to J&J acuvue lenses while I wait on my prescription stabilising enough to get laser treatment.0 -
My optician offers it. If I could afford it, I would do it in a heartbeat, but mainly because he is the one professional I feel I can trust completely. (Having worked in health service, that probably says a lot of my opinion on the people I have worked with, but I don't care)I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

As an Optician, I'm still not convinced as to why there is any great benefit to wearing lenses overnight as opposed to during the day. Obviously, there are some advantages for certain sports or occupations, but for general day to day vision?Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I dont notice any deterioration in my vision over the course of a day and in fact, sometimes if I miss a night my vision is still pretty good over the next day.
Having said that my eyes were not teriible to start with, think my prescription -2 ish. Personally it works for me, I so hate wearing glasses, they just make me feel old and frumpy, and I find for me, wearing lenses whilst I am asleep seems a convenient option.
I am super careful with cleaning though, after a very stern lecture from my optician when I first got them.0 -

The main problem I find with wearing lenses is a) potential to fall out/be lost b) getting blurry from tears c) getting grit/debris under them.
Wearing them at night would cut all this out.0
