Targets for 2007

  • Good thread. Here are my goals for 2007:

    * reduce debt by £8,000 (aiming for at least £700 reduction per month)
    * stay healthy (I was seriously ill earlier in the year and it frightened me)
    * get pregnant (I have thought long and hard about this as I debated whether to try and get pregnant whilst I am in debt, but time is not on my side as I am late 30s and I have already suffered one miscarriage. Being ill earlier in the year focussed my mind on what I want and I DO want a family)

Here's to a fabulous 2007 for us all :grouphug:
Dealing with my debt and my weight :D
    Debt at LBM 22/12/08 £33,270
Debt now £30,100 (9.5% paid off)

    £2 coins saved and banked = £210

Ooh - I need some goals to focus the mind!

I have one, and one only. It's a biggie. My goal is to pay off at least £16,000 from my total debt by the end of 2007. This will leave me with c. £10K to pay between January 08 - August 08 (the funding for my project runs out then and so I may be out of a job).

Can I do it? I bloomin well hope so! It means upping my monthly payments by about £400 per month but I do like a challenge!

Oh, and to change to a cheaper broadband provider!!

Good luck everyone -I'm looking forward to sharing all your achievements in 2007.

  • I don't post very often because I am ashamed that I keep falling off the wagon. I even contemplated giving up earlier this week, and starting again in January, but what's the point of stopping becuase it will be even harder next year. Therefore here are my aims for 2007:

Pay off by HBOS credit card
Make £100 overpayment each month on LTSB loan
Get more work in second job to help make overpayments
    More old style cooking
    Get more organised with everything!!

I'm sure there will be a few more.

Good luck to everyone with their aims for next year and to those (quite a few!) having babies, had babies, trying to have babies. :D

  • Hi all,

I anticipate having my DFD in mid-2007 but do have a couple of other targets for the year.

    1. Limit spending on food to £1040 for the entire year; this excludes Christmas.
    2. Complete a spending diary for every day of 2007.

Oh, and marry Keira Knightley :)

    Hi

My main aims for 2007 are: -
    • To reduce my overdraft from it's current standing of £500 to £0.
    • To overpay my mortgage by £2500
    • To save £3000 in an ISA
    • To stick to a budget of £20/month for misc spends and no excuses ;)
    • and to spend as much time with my OH as I can afford.
Good luck to you all and I hope you achieve your goals.

    For 2007?

Just to keep plugging away. I can't make any further cut backs. I've just had a major (financial) set back so am feeling very low right now but I've got my health and family. I'll probably have to move house next summer as my landlord was on a 2 year contract abroad, and I think he'll want his house back.

    I will:

Clear my CC and OH's CC by May 1st.
Pay rest of loan money owing, in full, by June (circa £550)
Start saving for family Holiday next September.
    Get thin, for said holiday
Look into finishing my AAT qualification

    xx
