    OP seems to have taken in the various pros and cons - it is quite possible that older buyers will think that any legal problems will be for their children to sort out so why should they bother!

    OP should make sure his solicitor reports fully to him on all these pros and cons although it certainly looks as if he is getting the right take on it all.

    As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

    Well, legally, I don't see any obvious minefields coming along in the future except for the obvious point of mortgages but I'm fully aware of that.
    As I said, the blocks appear well run and maintained with full buildings insurance - a major point for any flats I think.
