Got my car back last week.

Ive been very impressed so far.

Installation was very professionally done to a high standard.

The car goes exactly the same on LPG as it does with petrol. Same performance. Im going to do a few fillups before i come up with a final figure, but i calculate that i have reduced my fuel bill by around 35% at the minute.

Filling up is a bit more awkward, but with practice should be no problem.
I filled up yesterday with 60 litres of LPG and it cost me £42.
If i was filling up with petrol it would have cost me £80.

On start up, the car uses a small amount of petrol and then changes over to LPG automatically. You dont even feel the changeover, no loss of power or misfire.

    Im very pleased so far.

    Hi

Well its been a couple of months now since the conversion to LPG.

So far, its been a great success. Im saving a lot of money.

My insurance company dont charge any extra premium to insure it, and my road tax is £10 a year less now.

Best thing i have done so far. I will be keeping the car for the next 4 or 5 years.
My only regret, is that i should have done sooner.

The only downside, is the range.
I get about 240 miles to a tank of gas.

I get a good bit of attention at the filling station.
People generally ask me how its going, are you saving much.

The car drives no different, same performance and im saving money all the time.

LPG is 73.9p per litre and petrol around £136.9

    Happy motoring!!

    Hi Funkydaddio

    The conversion cost me £1700.

I used Diamond Autogas near Crumlin.
He has a website. Very professional install.
Very neat and tidy, exactly what i wanted.

My car is a 2002 BMW 5 series.

I would recommend him to anyone.

Any other questions, ask away folks.

I sometimes use the station at Kennedy way just off the M1 but filling here is slower than the one on the Belsize Rd.
Gas conversions are only worthwhile on large petrol engined cars.
They still use petrol when the engine is starting cold for the 1st few miles. My S320 merc used
    £90 petrol = 270miles
    £40 gas = 200 miles
Big saving! but they are very slow to fill up and reduce the life of your plugs by 50% due to higher temperatures.
