In November my direct debit did not go through I immediately contacted them and paid by debit card several hours later my service was cut off .I rang the accounts dept where I was greeted with arrogance and rudeness So they lost me as a client and I wrote to the Chief Executive one Nigel East wood who never replied After receiving dire threats from the accounts dept about further bills I decided to pay all bar £50 to compensate me for the lost service that should not have been cancelled I contacted them again I n spite of requests not to use my private mobile number all they do is pester me .After much discussion I was eventually offered £25 not of course acceptable to me So as not to prolong this I offered to donate the other £25 to Cancer research in full and final settlement This was agreed in writing by a member of their staff Oliver Rix who then reneged on this agreement and they have now put debt collectors onto me to pay this £25 .My reaction no way let them take this to the small claims court0

Please see my post.........avoid Primus at all costs, most unprofessional company I have dealt with0

I joined Primus last June. I've never had any real problem with them other than the difficulty in getting through to customer service. And since last September when they relocated back to the UK from India things have improved there, although I still have to wait at least 15 minutes before they pick up the receiver. At one time I could wait over an hour.
As long as you use them purely as a no-frills landline you do save money on line rental. I'm on a free evenings and weekend plan and paying £7.99 pcm for line rental. The same arrangement with BT would cost £14.60 pcm (unless I paid 1 year in advance when it's £10.75). As long as I don't dial non-geograghical numbers (eg 0845, 0844. 0870, 0871 etc) or use features like caller display (I have an answerphone anyway) then I'm saving up to £6.60 pcm. Calls to mobile phones should be avoided as well.
There's nothing wrong with their billing either. All my calls with the details are shown clearly, and so far no mistakes.0 -
I joined Primus in January (2012) and have found their customer service appalling. They don't reply to emails, they never sent me anything in the post or by email with proper details about my new account or what charges would be made when.
Their website is totally disorganised, it looks like a half-finished project done by a 12 year old.
They have also charged me more than the advertised price and I can't find any details or breakdown about the charge. Again, an email requesting help has gone unanswered.
I cannot comprehend how a company like PRIMUS is allowed to run such a shambolic service.
Bendipa - can I ask how you were able to see your bill and calls made? Or do you work for Primus??

On there, I can see my bills and all calls I have made dating back to 14 February 2006.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

No. I don't work for Primus. I wouldn't mention that it used to take me over an hour to get through to CS were that the case, would I?

In spite of agreeing in writing my proposal this company is so badly run that they have put debt collectors on to me the infamous Scotcall a bunch of Glasgow bullyboys whose antics appear elsewhere on these forums The £25 has duly been paid to Cancer Research .Quite how Eastwood came to become a chief executive is beyond me Should Newcall ever float avoid their shares0
