iBook247 owes me a refund

Hi,

I booked a holiday in thailand earlier this year, and the hotel uses the website ibook247 to process bookings + payments. I later realised that there were no ferries to the island on day 1 and I needed to stay at the hotel 1 day less than I had booked, so I got in touch with ibook247 and arranged a refund of the 1 day (minus 15% fee).

But now more than a month later I still haven't received the refund, and they aren't replying to any emails or answering any calls. Does anyone know what I can do next?

Thanks
David.

  • anyone?

it's been over 2 months now and I still haven't got anywhere. They responded to 1 of my many emails by saying they will check with their bank (again) but haven't heard anything since.

Do you have it in writing (email counts) that they will give you a refund?

If so, send them a letter before action saying that if they don't refund within 14 days, you will file with the small claims court.

If they don't refund, then proceed with the claim
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Think you might struggle with court action as the website appears to be out in Thailand?

How did you pay? Did you book with a Credit Card?

Have you tried calling the Hotel direct? (ibook247 appears to be simply an agent/portal to the hotel)

How much are you looking at? It might be better to cut your losses?

  • Yeah i contacted the hotel, they said they'd try to get them to process it but I haven't heard back from them either. The island was evacuated recently so I don't want to give them more hassle.

It's only about £60 so not that much, but it's the principal more than anything else...

Sounds like at least they are trying then.

And as you say, they have been having a few problems with the torrential rain and flooding at the moment in the South.

Hope it goes through ok when order is restored :T
