i know its probabally a trivial/simple question but i have never ever book an holiday abroad before so... when booking a holiday i know you have to put a deposit down... but what % is it... we have 'love 2 travel' vouchers for first choice/thompson (and others) and we are wondering if we can get away with just using them as deposit... any advice appreciated

you cant usualy use the vouchers as a deposit and usualy the deposit is around 100-120pp unless they offer a low deposit in which case you usualy pay about 20pp with the rest of the deposit due so many weeks after but with the holiday being in April you would have to pay the whole cost approx 10 weeks before the departur date.
Best to get some prices from the high street them try getting some prices off here via the independents or others like myself that just liek hunting for deals.
Its not always cost affective to use vouchers so get plenty of prices firstIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -

... my part will be paid by febuary 15th anyways
... i am looking at malta as the main or if not grecce and it has to fly from bristol
oh and i have to buy a passport too
when shall i start organising that :rotfl: this is turning into the worst idea ever  0 -
Firstly I dont think your going to get Greece for April most islands dont start till May ...you might get Corfu or Crete at a push if its late April.
Passports should be got ASAP but you can pay the premium service through the post office to get it back quicker but check with them on costs.
Go to the travel agents who you have to use the voucher with but have an idea on the hotels. Then once you have prices check the companies online price and if its lower get them to match it. The vouchers are pre paid ones like gift voucher? If they are they are as good as cash so you should beable to use them for the deposit. I thought they were the kind that were given away.
Still shop aroundIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0
