I have to agree. November/December 2008 approx. MSE upgraded their search and it has been rubbish ever since. I can type in 'scammo' and even though I'm a regular poster and have been a member for a while. It often comes back with 'no results'.

Hmmm. I just did an advance search for "john lewis code" and it brought back many relevant results, including this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/588876

eta. Both basic & advance search brought back the same results.

Honestly, the stock vBulletin search function that comes with the forum software is pretty useless. Doesn't even allow boolean searches or the like.

I've been hoping that MSE might have a way of implementing something a bit better, but haven't really made a 'noise' about it.

With the size of the forum database here, unless a substitute is readily available that can just be slotted in, then it might not be a simple task to do?

It is frustrating though. Sometimes I've found it's easier and more productive to search the site through Google's advanced search.

    I agree it isn't good!
