ASDA Home Delivery Services...

I have "some" praises and some complaints about the service of ASDAs home delivery service. This is regarding the Slough branch.

So I usually use Sainsburys but unfortunately due to the living cost increase, I decided to cut back on food expenses. I looked at ASDAs website and they seem to have some excellent offers on their products, I was very impressed indeed! I spent half of what I usually would on a monthly shop and yet I seem to have tallied up more food and essentials than I would have if I were using Sainsburys. Brill!

The morning of delivery arrives and I'm enjoying the morning I've managed to grab from work. My delivery was scheduled between 8am and 10am. 10.30am swings by and by now I need to be leaving to get to a client. I receive a call on my mobile whilst I'm on hold to the store (25 mins holding time and still no answer!), so I pick up the call and it is the delivery guy.

He then spends 20 minutes explaining to me that my road is blocked off. Well I can see from my window, it is NOT. I live in a cul de sac, if my road were blocked off there would be 100 screaming residents with pitchforks in the street as nobody would be able to get out for work, commuting, shopping etc. So I knew this was a load of old tosh. I asked him to speak to one of the "workmen" that were supposedly stood on my street blocking it off and he said it's not his duty to do this. He also tells me he's parked outside a pub across the road trying to get in. Well unless he's delivering my monthly shop on a bicycle that was parked against a lamp post he is CLEARLY not there.... because I can see the pub from my window!

I then received a call from the home shopping MANAGER who was not only half-assed about the situation, he was extremely brash, rude and shouted at me when I questioned his driver's honesty. It ended with me being quite upset and in tears, never been spoken to this way and I don't expect it from a manager of all people. He'd insulted the fact I was a "woman so had no idea what I was talking about", he even said "Perhaps you can't see the roadworks from your kitchen".:mad::mad:

So then I called the ASDA HQ telephone number and still in tears I explained what this gent had just said to me.

The HQ complaints person was extremely sensitive to the issue and very helpful indeed. So my praise is that he has resolved this for me and they SHOULD be returning to deliver at 11am (but haven't thus far) and another courtesy delivery has been sent out on a different truck in case the first doesn't arrive; with a new driver at 1pm. Of course this has now ruined my morning schedule and some of my clients are a little bit annoyed that I'll be late to their property, but nothing too serious at least.

I can only suggest anyone using the Slough branch who deals with this particular manager named Paul... if he's as rude to you as he was to me, call the ASDA HQ! People explain that writing a letter of complaint is easiest but I honestly think that by talking to them whilst I was still upset; they realised the true seriousness of this matter and have acted upon it immediately.

Feel much better to get that off my chest !!! Bloody ASDA in Slough, disgusting service!

That is terrible!!!! How rude of both driver AND esspecially the manager!
I hope that they give you some money off of free groceries or something and dock it out of the manager and drivers wage!

Hope you had a different driver too!
Do Tescos. The only prob I have with them is that when they say 9am-10am they arrive at 8.55am lol - which is GREAT infact, but not when you're on the school run haha :)
