I've had the offer accepted, got the mortgage and am just waiting for the searches and homebuyers to be done. Just starting to think about.....
Gas, electricity and water bills. I have a figure in my head as to how much these things cost but I'm now trying to get a more accurate idea of what I can expect to start paying.
Would be grateful if anyone could give some actual figures
Thanks

It depends on usage and how many people. As an example, we pay £70 per month for Gas/electric for four.
Not sure on water at mo. I am unhappy now our next house has a water meter though, I did work out based on family of four, no dish washer, no hosepipe, 2 baths/6 showers per week it was double what we pay now.0 -
It really depends on:
1. How many of there are you and whether you are in during the day or not.
2. What area you live in as different suppliers have different tariffs for different areas.
3. Whether you have a water meter. If you don't have a water meter what was your old banding rate.
For water you can actually phone the utility company and get the price if you are not on a meter, and know the full property address. If they ask you to set up payments just say you need to discuss the payment methods with with someone else.
For gas and electricity bills I would go to USwitch or some other comparison site and put in figures for rough usage for your property. (You need to make up a supplier in the first place.)I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Totally agree with the above, but as a ROUGH guide to water - 250-400 per year. You can pay by Direct Debit to spread the cost! (our current house is about 270 p year, but new house is 370 p year). You may well get a copy of their Water Bill through sols as this info is requested (that's how I know bill for new house!)0
