B & Q Trade account number wanted

Hi,
I am renovating a house and have a load of B & Q gift cards to use. Most of the materials and bits I want are further discounted at B&Q with their tradepoint system but as I work in IT I cannot get an account myself.
Would anyone be able to PM me an account number? I went in to B&Q this morning and asked them about buying through the tradepoint part and they advised that if I turned up armed with said account number and giftcards they would be able to process the transaction.
Also I believe that bonus points would be added to your account? Win/win then. If I didn't have the vouchers I would of been off to a builders merchants to get the materials, so trying to make the best of it at B&Q!

    1. Not everything in tradepoint is cheaper than on the shop floor - don't be misled.

    2. If you did not have the vouchers you would be going to a builders merchants anyway so you are not losing anything by not using them. Indeed you are still gaining using them on B&Q shop floor.

    3. As for an account number, firstly I am sorry but I will not assist in scamming B&Q in what could easily be interpreted to be a fraudulent transaction and secondly what on earth makes you think that anyone would be prepared to give out personal information such as this to someone they don't know from Adam?

    Cheers

Yep - OP is quite at liberty to do that for himself. I know I'm a PITA on this but I regard such activity as fradulent as I've said before but each is free to do what he wants.

Neither is part of the criteria to get a Tradepoint Card. All you need is a business card and a letterhead. B&Q invite people to buck the system by their own lax policies IMO.

Fair point, I won't be misled.

Actually I would be losing something by going to the builders merchants in some circumstances. One being for example that I needed the cash involved for other things another being I didn't need other materials or anything from B&Q. I have not mentioned how I got the vouchers either so saying I would not be losing anything and indeed gaining is, in my circumstances, not the situation.

This is fair enough, having read the terms and conditions and taking a view on why they are in place as they are it seems likely to me that it is to prevent non trade persons reselling in general. Whilst I agree having read them that this may constitute fraud in terms of sharp practice for personal gain, it would not be for profit as such and no reselling taking place. But good point, you don't know me from Adam and therefore can have no idea beyond words provided by me of the purposes.

I am just trying to save myself money, I am going to be living in the house when done so not even doing it for profit there.
I will persue another angle! Anyone want to by a load of B&Q vouchers at 5% discount and I will go to the builders merchants? (or does that breach some rules as well?)

you could easily set up a new account working in I.t

all you need to make a account is a business card and a invoice, easily knocked up on the computer

if you dont fancy doing that, just go to the checkout and say i havent got my trade card, give a postcode or a last name like jones and they can search it on the till. so many will come up they will just select any random name.

if not if you have a old person they can get 10% off on a Wednesday.

Not a good idea. The employee will put their own job in jeopardy.
