Everything's bigger than normal

Can anyone help with this please?
Yesterday everything on my screen was normal. Today everything is bigger and a bit blurry and not everything fits on the page. I've had it before with websites but even Outlook Express is bigger as well this time.
I've done Control + 0 and it doesn't help.
I've gone to View > Zoom and it's on 100%. Changing to 75% makes it too small.
Tried View > Text Size and tried them all and nothing changes, I've got it set on Medium.
Any suggestions please? Thanks guys.
P.S. It's not just MSE, it's every website I've gone on.

Is it the actual display that has changed or the browser display?

Sorry dg1dd1ngs, I should have said I'm a computer numptie so not sure what the difference is
.
Anyway, I also should have added that even the task bar is bigger and a bit blurry. Does that help answer your question?
I do have other talents, just rubbish with computers :rotfl: .0 -

Hey, don't worry. That's what we're here for, to help people
The screen resolution to quote Wikipedia (To sound amazingly clever!) is "the number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed.
If you right click on your desktop you will see in the menu 'Screen resolution', you can change the numbers. My laptop for example is 1280 X 800. These numbers are the columns and rows in which the pixels are displayed.
It will normally have a recommended display setting for your monitor/screen.
If you are having problems with the size of stuff in the browser then we need to know what browser you are using first...R.I.P Dad. I will never forget you xxx0 -

OK, let's see if this is answering your question.
Internet Explorer (6 I think) - is that the browser?
Screen resolution is 800 x 600 pixels (I found by going to Control Panel > Display Properties). It doesn't say anything about a recommended setting. It does say Default Monitor on Intel (R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family.
Does it help any?0 -
Oh another thing - my icons on the desktop have rearranged themselves, they've all gone over to the left hand side in columns, I had them spread out before to where I wanted some of them.0

Ooooh Internet Explorer!! (Change it, change it!) :P
Try changing the screen resolution to a bigger set of numbers, it will ask you if you want to keep the settings so if you don't like it then choose 'No' and try another setting. Let me know if you have any luck

Change it  ooh please, I have enough trouble as it is, it's my friend and I understand it (mostly) :rotfl: .
Anyway, I just shut my computer down to see if anything would change. Switched it back on and would you believe, everything is now normal size! Icons on destop are back to where I originally put them. So that's good, perhaps threatening to chuck it out of the window helped
.
Just one thing, sorry
. Now when I click on the icon to open the IE browser I'm getting a smaller box which I have to maximize every time whereas before it was filling the whole screen. How can I get it back to the browser filling the whole screen as before.
Thanks so much for your help by the way, I'm really grateful (there should be a smilie for "I bow to your superior knowledge").0
