When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T
Gooood morning lovely people....how are we all today?! The thread was nice and busy yesterday, so fab to see people joining us with our lists:T
Welcome to you all...stick with us!!

Ok, got my scan results and they showed no Crohn's there...very pleased:beer: Doc said it all looked fine and the join from last years op settling down well. Fab news for me:T So just going to go back on the tablets I used to take...they kept me pretty well for years, so that suits me.

Righty-ho....must get cracking then on this beautiful looking day:rotfl: Looks wintery again...booooo.
Time for my list then:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll - they've been quite generous recently:D
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • home for lunch - check on dd1 who's not well
  • meal from plan tonight - jacket pots and chicken
  • clean washing off airer and put away
  • leave heating on low as dd1 is home
  • uni work
  • check ebay listings
  • keep house tidy
  • Sparkle:T
That's my lot - have a fab day everyone!
I really need to sort out a new signature!

  • Good morning everyone, and thanks to pixie for starting the thread today. I had a great day yesterday and also ended up by getting an order for a leather corset :j:j
Today hasn't started so well as DH has used all the milk so I'll have to wait until I get to work for a cuppa! Still, it's DFW I suppose, but it's my kickstart in the mornings.

    So far today:
    • checked banking - some random deposits in there
    • checked for surveys
    • made a packed lunch for work
    • fed and watered the chickens
    I will also:
    • do an hour overtime before and after work
    • free tea and coffee at work
    • charge mobile at work
    • use left over chicken in something for dinner tonight
    • have an LSD - just milk and fruit
    • cut out and stitch mock-up corset for customer to try tomorrow
    • order curtain rings and blind cord in bulk from ebay - cheaper than small quantities and I've got 5 blinds to make
    • try to enjoy my day
Must get dressed or there'll be no overtime done this morning. It's a good job I only work 5mins from home. ;)

I had a pretty crappy emotional day yesterday (not really feeling 100% today either tbh)

Made other halfs sarnie last night
    -Check online balances
-Transfer week after nexts rent and council tax payment
-try n do as much housework as possible this morning
    -11am Telephone interview with Payplan
-Withdraw cash for shopping -half the cost for other halfs dental check up next week - and petrol money for next couple of weeks.

If that doesnt skint us out I dont know what will, (sorry am loosing all motivation right now, i'm finding things very hard not seeing any slight leeway for things in our budget right now) Its been a tight month due to Anniversaries (our parents) and Birthdays (3)

Fab news Pixie:dance: good blinking times!!!!

Hello everyone :hello: happy Thursday & especially happy for me today as I have the day off (am working on Sat) and our cooker arrives between 10-2 :j cannot wait - although the cost is a bit of a bummer (thank you perni for being so sweet and remembering we are skint due to my car, was very touched! :A) but oh's parent's gave us £100 towards it & at 35 I have my first ever new cooker! :p we wanted a silver one but it was £50 more so in the end we decided it didn't matter if it was white, silver, balck or orange as long as it cooked!

    So today:
    • do meal plan for next 2 weeks & work out what we need - keeping this extremely minimal!
    • [STRIKE]look for free sauna pass in amongst all the rubbish in the laundary room - fingers crossed for me ladies![/STRIKE] found it & a free sunbed session voucher :j will do that later this evening :T
    • go for a run
    • check for onepoll
    • walk into town
    • pay money into bank acc when in town later
    • return top for refund & pay off store card I took out for the 10% off ;)
    • get some soil & plant some seeds :money:
    • look out on job sites
    • put turkey leg curry in SC
    • [STRIKE]call vodafone & either cancel or get the same deal as I currently have which I saw on T mobile for £8pm[/STRIKE] have another 10 months to go! :rotfl:
ok that's all I can think of right now and as much as I love to hear all of your daily shenanigans I want to seize the day :D x

    Morning everyone!

Starting the day feeling a little put out, a colleague has hogged a lot of jobs that he doesn't have to do anything on and he's not going to be here til Tuesday! So it means he'll get labour sales though he's not going to be here! Hardly fair! Might mention it to my other colleague this morning and see what he says.... The more I think about it, the more it's winding me up.

    Here is my list today:-
    - Checked banking
    - Charge iPhone at work
    - Washing machine run over night on Eco 7
    - Do some surveys
    - Keep an eye on ebay
    - Dinner from stores tonight
    - Write small Mr T's list and stick to it
    - Wii fit tonight, 1 hour
    - Try to find some writing books for DD, she is getting bored at pre-school and starting to be disruptive, considering when the new pre-school teacher started she thought she was going to school this year (she's still got another year to go :() you would have thought they'd have thought of that?
    - More washing over night tonight
    - Washing in tumble over night tonight, raining today :(
    - Check for new bills

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

ceejaydee sorry things are tough for your right now - here is a big hug from me and all the others on the thread :grouphug: (I speak for us all now! :rotfl:) - it can be really really rough at times on this journey and it ebbs and flows so please stay strong and don't throw the towel in, you can and will get through this & find ingenious ways to reduce costs or up your income (usually both). I can remember clearly the November when I came home & found my oh sobbing on our bed & then a couple of days later he found me.

Be really kind to yourself over the next few days - a couple of very frugal pick me ups are in order I think - and you will soon be back to feeling strong again & having a will of iron to beat this bad boy x

fellas and their egos ceejaydee, it can be tough when what we want (and now I am speaking for myself and making huge generalisations about females now :o:rotfl:) is a hug while we sob & what they want is to be *ehem* close physically but people get what they need in different ways so try not to blame him too harshly for being a man! x
