Feeling depressed, can't work, no money, scared

It seems strange to spend £70 a month at the gym, and then a further £40 a month on fags - don't these kind of cancel each other out? Any benefits through exercise will be jeapordised through smoking. Keep the gym for all the reasons given above, but ask your doctor for help in giving up smoking - you won't regret it, and you'll have £10 a week extra to throw at your debts. Good luck.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Thank you all SO much, this support means so much to me, it is good to know that I am not alone and not the only one (well it is not good that others feel like this, but I appreciate the shared experiences).
I made it to work today, and so far it is going really well, just taking it slowly, trying to eat well (fruit) and drink water, as I beleive diet effects how you feel. Haven't had a fag either. I did take the valium last night tho, and had a nights sleep for once! So maybe that is why I feel good today. But you have your highs and lows I guess, but I feel bit better. Just one day at a time for me, not sure what tomorrow will bring.
You do feel like a bit of a nutter sometimes, like it's been said there is a stigma attached to it, but thanks to what you have all said, I am not to blame for feeling like this, I have been through a lot.
There are just SO many pressures these days, it's scary, pressure to get the right job, earn money, get the latest TV etc. it is crazy!
I really want to fight this, I can't let it beat me, I don't think my mum could cope, she says she doesn't want me to feel like this, like I am a burden...I cannot help it!!!!
It feels good to be at work earning money. I really want to refocus on my debts, cos I feel like that is trapping me.
I will print off this post and keep in in my folder and read all the great stuff you guys have said it when I need, I will also look at your suggestions in more detail and take those into account and make some changes.
Really I cannot thanks you ALL enough, it is so nice to be given support and understanding.
Skintas - you sound like you need some support and help in your post, I hope you are ok and have got help regarding your money and things on MSN?
Thanks again everyone, and hope you are all having a good day if you are depressed and get well soon.

Your right iolanthe07, it is crazy smoking and then going to the gym, the fags have just been to help me stay calm, something to get me through, when I felt low I would drive around in my car and smoke! Silly hey, I hate wasting money on fags.
I will ask the doctor, just didn't want to give myself too much to soon, one thing at a time, but sure it would make me feel better. Cos my skin looks awful and my eyes look awful from bags under my eyes, and puffy eyes from crying and my car stinks of smoke too!Became debt free in 2007 after having £15k of debt. Well done on making it to work babe, so glad you're feeling a bit better today. Yes, it will be ups and downs, that's life, so when you have a down day, just say to yourself, it's just today that it's like that, it won't be like this tomorrow. Getting to work when you didnt' think you might be able to is an achievement, well done

Exactly so, you're not a nutter and you've been through a lot. It's natural that you're feeling a bit wonky. Most people would feel the same in your shoes, if they were honest about it. It's perfectly normal.
You're obviously a fighter, keep it up, you're in the driving seat of your life now, and we're standing by the side of the rally course cheering you on!!
