Thinly veiled brag (sorry)

This is a brag, and I don't apologise for it!
After a lot of hard work, I have managed to increase my income by almost £2000 this year by getting a promotion at work :j
I work for the NHS in Pathology, a job I started last May after spending most of my working life in retail. I wanted a career change and have finally found something that I love doing. This is a band 2 post (£13653).
A few weeks ago a band 3 post came up internally (£15610) and I along with 12 others applied for it. Interviews were last week, which I personally thought didn't go anywhere near as well as I wanted it to.
Anyway, with all said and done, I got offered the post, starting in April.
Now I will have enough money to live on comfortably (well more or less) and can afford for petrol prices to go a little higher (though I'd rather they didn't, obviously).
Not a productive post I'm afraid, but I'm in a good mood and sharing that with anyone I can get the attention of lol.

Well done!!
It is a good feeling getting a new job especially in this difficult economic time - hope you enjoy it :T0 -
Thank you.
I suppose I could qualify all this by saying the only real way to get extra income is by working hard, be that by doing Avon, getting a promo at work or even spending an extra 5 minutes making your eBay ads stand out from the rest to get a better winning bid
.
I've long since learnt there's no such thing as easy money.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0 -
Hey Dizzle,
Congrats on the promotion....and getting paid for something you love doing has to be awesome. I'm still trying to figure this one out for myself, until that point I'll be grafting away at something I don't really love doing, but pays the bills at least.
As much as I agree there's no such thing as easy money, I'm off to check my lotto ticket for tonight!

Hope this does not sound too negative but just a caution to remember that you will lose some of this as tax and NI so hope you remember this if you are doing any workouts!
