How to close halifax online banking?

Hello everyone,
I have a simple question to ask anyone who knows something about Halifax "Online Banking" accounts.
I have a Halifax Standard Credit Card, and recently decided to try using their 'Online Banking' by registering for an online account last week. The online banking account works fine, and I am able to check statements etc.
BUT I have changed my mind and now want to CLOSE the online account permenantly, as I do not like the idea of accessing my account details via the web. Obviously, I do NOT want to close my actual Credit Card account, just the online banking.
I tried sending Halifax an email a few days ago asking them how I close it, but I have had no response. I specifically want it closed, rather than just never log in again and hope that it gets deleted from lack of use...! Their 'help' pages give no details of how to close online banking.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO CLOSE/DEACTIVATE A HALIFAX ONLINE BANKING ACCOUNT?
Thanks,
Kurt!

Contact the Online Banking Helpdesk on 08456 02 00 00.
I'd imagine they will put some sort of indefinite suspension on your online access.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
OK thank you folks, I will cal them. Although I get nervous about telephoning banking helplines as they can make dreadful mistakes, particularly when demanding hard to remember passwords etc.0

If you want a quick way to stop anyone accessing your online account (including you) without having to call anyone or go to a branch, just enter your password wrong a few times.
The online account would be locked and it would take you calling up (and answering a ton of security questions) to unlock it
But that's just how someone lazy like me would do it. I suspect you are a bit more through/paranoid than me.0 -

Although you could do this, I would not suggest it - The bank themselves may think it's suspicious and I say could lead to them blocking the account itself as well as the online part of things.David
£1 of debt is too much for me!0
