    The worst case scenario for you is a walk on ticket (superoffpeak return) at £150.70 total. It's a bit restrictive on trains, but you don't need to book it in advance.

    The chances of you getting advance tickets for very much less than this are almost certain.

    thanks very much for all your help and I've booked the tickets for £66.50 for all of us! they've just popped up this morning at a lower price. Now I just need to wait for a deal to come up on a family and friends railcard and I'l be well happy. thanks again.
