Same solicitors

When I bought I tried to use the same solicitor as the seller was planning on doing so (they had used that solicitor for their previous move). The solicitor told me that she couldn't act for both sides but she would work for me as I had instructed her first. The seller had to go and find another solicitor as she was the only conveyancer in the practice.
The fact that the solicitor knew the sellers and was familiar with the property was actually an advantage as it speeded things up. I just don't think the sellers were too impressed that I had got to their solicitor before them - though it wasn't anything deliberate on my part, just a coincidence that comes from living in a small town without many solicitors.0 -
Will it be faster ?
Does the fax machine or postal service work faster if both solicitors are from the same firm, no.
between the two lawyers is it mega fast, as round table meeting happens to agree all points instantly.
good luckMy posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o0 -
Because solicitors often don't specialise to the same extent, and your house sale may well be on their desk with someone else's divorce or court proceedings etc. Licensed conveyancers only do conveyancing, so have much more direct experience. :rotfl:Often a bit cheaper too, for the same service:rotfl:.
I said 'conveyancing' solicitors, not a 'divorce' solicitor. You have no idea at all. I do as I face the very people I post about day in and day out - hence I tell it like it is.
LC's having more expereince and the same service as a conveyancing solicitor. :rotfl: Look forward to reading your future post of woe.My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
