Can't hubby go in late, you leave early on the days that your friend can't do the run? Surely hubby's employers are worth asking as he is the father...
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Also a possibility and he probably has more flexibility in doing this unless a meeting or something is arranged whereas me as a temp is wary of asking too often 'Can I change my hours to xxxxx from xxxxx on xxxx'. And I'm aware that with DS school leaving assembly plus sports day coming up around the same time of year, and limited AL to use, that I'd be asking several times within a short space of time. But it's definately something we can consider.

At the min I'm waiting for someone to get back to an email I sent them, as their son has been on the same G&T courses as mine for past 2 years, so if the school they are at is also going and their child has a place, that is also a possibilty there.

Ok, so it's the week in question and it is working out far better than I ever hoped for. :T DH 'remembered' someone who lives not far away but works in the other area, and asked and this person has been able to help out with several runs. Grandparents did 1 run, and didn't have the complication of other grandkids as they are on hol. DH had a business meeting in the area concerned so could combine that, and we are both off Friday to see his presentation. :j

Meanwhile, I realised my initial idea of putting DD into school holiday playscheme for 1/2 days wasn't realistic when I saw how bad my Grandmother's walking had become when we all went away. By chance I found a theatrical summer school running the same week. However it was running 9-3 which is the same hours I work and this place is nowhere near where I either live or work, so it was back to square 1 just a different child and place. :rotfl: However asking work if I could go in work late 1 morning, paying a friend's teenage who lives near the drama academy to take DD the other mornings and having Grandad pick up, has worked out fab. After DS's presentation we will be going through to see DD on stage in her play at a Theatre.

Fantastic news, Spendless, may you burst with pride on Friday!

Ours did a few residentials as they got older: it was often a bit of nightmare working out how to get them there and back, but at least I only had to do it once at the beginning, and once at the end ...

Well I went, and who did I see there? A child who lives in same village us, who is going to the same Secondary as my son. And I know child's mother because me and her were both working at the same place when pregnant with said children,so I know enough about them to know they are also working parents with a smiliar aged younger child too, and it may have been a possibilty to share the load. I didn't know this child was going though due to going to a different Primary school to mine. Still, it got sorted. However, I have put on the feedback form about better co-ordination for the children attending from another county, to give the parets the opportunity of being able to car pool.
