Balance transfer tesco- Santander - Help!

Hello all

I am very new to credit cards. I took out the tesco 0% for 13 months deal last year, with the deal due to end in June. I dont think i'll be able to clear all of the 1000 pounds i have on it before 0% ends.

I have recieved an offer in the post from my bank santander for a credit card with no balance transfer fee and 0% for 16 months!!!

My question is, can I transfer my balance over even though i have had my tesco card less than 12 months? I cant see any minimum durtation terms for the tesco card.

also once all my balance is transferred should i shut the tesco card?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

You can transfer anytime off the Tesco card.

I would apply for the Santander but do nothing until accepted and you know your limit. You may not get a large enough limit to transfer the whole Tesco balance.

If you get the card and a large enough limit, then you may have a certain amount of time to do the balance transfer but that is the only thing is need to concern yourself over.

Afterwards if you have no need for the Tesco card you can close it, although some people will say keep 2 cards, because despite the changes over repayments it is worth keeping balance transfers and purchases seperate.
