Trainline

I have only used Trainline once before so am not familiar with how they operate.

Last week I accepted a ticket at a certain price but, part way through the payment process, the price went up. Leaving aside that a contract had come in to existence (in my opinion) surely this should not happen.

Has anyone else experience this?

Well, if we leave aside that a contract had come in to existence, then what else is there? :D

The price of the cheaper train tickets, Advance Singles, do vary. As the cheaper ones sell, you are left with the more expensive ones.

Oh, and avoid thetrainline and other such third party sellers, like raileasy, and avoid their fees.

Use a train operating company, like Southern Railway. They do not charge fees and ticket prices are the same or cheaper.

How much did it go up by? could the extra amount be the cheeky booking/credit card fees that the trainline add?

Better to buy from a Train Companies' Website as there's no fees or if you use quidco then use Transpennine Express for cashback.
