Who signed for my parcel?

Hi. Does Royal mail tracked require a signature on delivery? Is there any way of checking who signed for my parcel?
I bought an item online and I put the wrong number on the address by mistake. I think the parcel went to my neighbour but she says it didn't. I checked the tracking number online and it says it's been delivered. How do I find out who's got my item?

If you put the wrong number on the address then you have to suspect it has been delivered to that number. Do you trust your neighbour ?0

Can you see the signature online?0

24/48 hour
with/without signature
If it was the wrong address and it shows delivered then its 99% its been delivered
you could contact your local delivery office and get them to check the tracking on the intranet
it will show all the tracks and resolutions
you have little comeback if the supplier and RM sent as you stated
who was it from?0 -
So to join your thread but I wanted to know if there is anything you can do if a birthday card with cash in it goes missing. My aunt posted it to my son and it has not arrived after 7 days, all other cards have arrived. I know you should not put cash in (and I use cheques) but is there any point in reporting this anywhere? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

You could report perhaps but I doubt you'd get anywhere, it was your aunts own risk to put money in the card when it's advisable not to. That's all they'd probably say to you unfortunately. Hope it wasn't too much money.I'm still driving away and I'm sorry everyday,

the item isnt missing until 15 working days
was there enough postage? so many 'missing' cards end up being underpaid and as such take longer to get to the delivery office after going through revenue protection
theres no tracking so it either shows up or it doesnt. if you report it then unless theres a known issue at X point in the network it means little0 -
Some of the time you can view the signature online - though rarely very legibly0

If you can't see the signature online (it can take five or so days for this to be uploaded) you can usually request a hard copy of the signature.
I imagine that it would be easiest to do this via your local sorting office.0 -

no it doesnt.
Tracked are delivered with PDAs and are updated in realtime
as for requesting signatures. you local office cannot do that
if paper copies are used(not for tracked) then they are sent away daily for scanning/uploading0 -
Interestingly enough i sent a letter recorded and was able to see the signature within 12 hours of it being delivered.
They replied recorded delivery and i wasnt in, my postman signed for it (he wrote this on the envelope) but when i check the code online, there is no signature available.
I'm not going to report it as he probably just wanted to save me a trip to the sorting office and obviously i did get the letter, but i cant help but think (i'm sure i'll get over it lol) that whats the point of sending items recorded if they wont receive a signature from the intended property? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
