I know i will prob sound thick and not sure if I've asked this before but do you have to close bank accounts? For some reason me and my bf have ended up with a few accounts that we now don't really use.We haven't got any money in them now only one with about £2 in. I sais we should write and cancel them all, but he says just to leave them it doesn't matter. About 2 the debit cards are out of date now as well.

You don't have to, but it could be a security risk if you aren't checking the accounts regularly. If the cards have lapsed and you haven't received new ones, how do you know they weren't intercepted in the post?0

If there is a facility to overdraw the account then you should be careful. If somebody else manages to withdraw funds then the bank will come after you first. Potential hassle at best.
If you are referring to a savings account then the worst that can happen is you forget about the £2. My OCD would demand that I close the account to "keep things tidy" but everyone is different.

Yes one has an overdraft athough we are still using it online. It prob is best in the end safety wise. I to feel it would be alot tidier if they were closed.DavidHayton wrote: »If there is a facility to overdraw the account then you should be careful.
