Hello, would really appreciate some help ASAP
My boyfriend received his renewal quote on 8th nov, which the insurance company had automatically renewed and sent out insurance certificate. It was for £800 ish.
Yesterday we rang around to find cheaper, and found one for £500 ish.
Rang current insurar today to cancel, they said we would have to pay over £300 in fees as had to pay 25% off quote PLUS cancellation charge.
How can they charge us this?? There is nothing in the terms about it and my boyfriend did not sign to renew his quote. They did not even ask if he would be renewing with them!!
Please help

Who are the insurers?
They will have said in their invitation letter that the policy would auto renew if you dont tell them otherwise... as at some point in the process when he bought the policy he would have been told (eg if he bought online he would have clicked an "I agree" button or such and it would have been said in there - like most people he probably didnt actually read what he was agreeing to)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
