OK I planted those courgettes seeds too early

They never thrived past the germination phase, I guess I had 12 out of 20 germinate and now I'm down to 3.

The rest died in various ways.

And the remaining 3 seedlings don't look very healthy ;)

I've just ordered some more seeds from Nottcutts before the free seeds offer finishes https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3068178

Any more early season failures out there?

I grow them last year for first time not sure when but they did suffer from the cold, they were fine in plastic greenhouse but outside I lost several plants. That said I got a wonderful crop. I grow mine in grow bags

No disasters yet, touch wood but it is early days :). Peppers, toms, chillies all germinating and growing well. Shame your courgettes have mostly failed but thank you for strengthening my resolve to not sow them just yet, if only enthusiasm was enough to make our crops grow! To help with my need to sow seeds I have sown some herbs today and some cress (I don't really class cress as gardening but it is a welcome and tasty addition to salads and sandwiches).
Better luck with your new seeds.

I stupidly put some tom seedlings in the (unheated) greenhouse.... just in time for the heavy frost :(

And I have about 10 leeks germinated from over 150 seeds... me thinks I need some more!

courgettes go outside in June, so sow April, I'm in London and don't bother sowing mine till end of April and always get loads.

Rummer, leeks can take 3 weeks, and knowing roughly where you live, you're a bit early so be patient;)

Thank you! They are indoors and we have had lots of sunshine (even through the snow showers :rotfl:I am beginning to think that my pack of seeds was a duffer and that I might need to buy a new one!

It's just too early, really for courgettes. They can't go outside until at least the end of May, so no need to sow until April. I always sow mine then, in an unheated greenhouse, then if any fail to germinate I can always get another couple of seeds in in time for going outside. They are huge & crop prolifically, so we only grow 4 plants.

Leeks - I've been watching them for a week now.. not a sign of anything!
I've only planted some chillis, peppers, tomatillos at the start of March - peas, tomatos and leeks last week. Everything has germinated but the leeks. I'm gonna shove them to the back of the four shelf tardis and wait a bit longer!
