Hello MSE's
I have a holiday booked for 31st May. I have insurance through my Santander bank account, insurance company is fortis.
I have to have an operation soon, prob in about 6 - 8 weeks, which will have approx a 4 week recovery time, providing op goes according to plan.
I may now not be able to go on holiday. The policy is in my name but i am travelling with OH and son. Will we all be covered. The flights and hotel was booked separate. Flights with OTB and hotel with freshholidays.com.
Can anyone advise what I need to do an dif we can cancel? Is there a time limit on when it can be cancelled?
Thanks

Your insurance will only cover this if it has come up since you booked the holiday (and since the policy was either started or renewed).
Does the policy cover your family members? If it does then they should be covered (assuming you are!)
To claim, you would need to cancel on "doctor's orders" - so maybe see what your doctor thinks about you being fit to travel.
If you aren't all covered by insurance, find out now how much it will cost to cancel - the nearer to departure usually the higher the cancellation charges.0
