Be careful when you do a credit check

Hi Guys,

Please don't use any other services in the Credit Expert site. You will loose your credit rating just looking at it, especially the Lower My Bills service.

I was using the Credit Expert site to check my credit score. Last week my score was Good. This week as I still got the whole month membership with them I logged back in and was checking the Lower My Bills service. Apart from having a look at it, I never applied for anything from it. And just because of that I lost 21 points out of my credit score. I called their customer care and they admitted that I lost that points just because of looking at that service.

So guys please be careful.

Cheer
Emil

It wouldn't matter if you lost 500 points by looking at lower your bills how is this going to effect you when you apply for credit?

Oh I thought it matters when you are on the border line, just like me, which will change your rating.

No you need to understand that your "score" is just a number made up by credit expert- anyone who searches your credit file before giving you credit won't have the faintest idea about this number as they have their OWN credit worthiness criteria... it's an indication only or for number geeks like me :) I find it interesting but I don't take any notice of it when considering if I might get a credit product or not... :)

No the "credit score" is just a number made up by experian so they can charge extremly guillable people money by selling a made up number to them.

It has no bearing on whether or not you'd be offered credit, anyone offering credit would look at the raw data (not including the fact you looked at your credit report) and make their own judgement.

Agreed, I managed to finance a new car despite having a default and poor record, BMW finance rang me and went through some questions about my accounts, how I pay and what my outlook was like and then she made a judgment after that, very good set up and was impressed they wanted to speak with a real person.
Before I get flamed I have to have a car for which my company pay me an allowance.
