Mozilla Thunderbird on W7

Neil_Taylor

Can someone tell me where Thunderbird stores emails and address book? I want to back them up.

Ta!

I think you'll find them here...

C:\Users\I]userName[/I\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

And here's a utility that will do it for you:

And if it's similar to Thunderbird under Linux, make sure you back up the whole profile (all the contents of the <randomchars>.default folder) as I found out the hard way that it's impossible to restore from just a subset of that data such as the Mail subfolder alone.

You can back your address book up from the import/export tab in the address book .

And if you download the ImportExportTools Add-on, you can export all of your messages, or a subset, in one of several different file formats - and of course import them similarly.

Golly!

Speedy response.

Thanks to all.
