Coaxial Cable

I am looking to split my sky to another room, with the cable going outside the house (probably need about 30/40 meters). What type of coax cable would be the best to use or does it make a diff to the signal at all? :j

30-40m do you live in a mansion? There will be considerable signal loss over that distance unless you go for professional quality cable. You'll need good quality satellite cable at the very least.
Splitting satellite isn't like splitting TV either.0 -
As above you can't split satellite cable, the box actually controls the LNB (bit in the middle of the dish) individually. You want to take another feed all the way from the DISH to the other room. If you have Sky+ you'll have a quad (4) output LNB, so can just run a cable from there. If not, a quad LNB costs less than £20 and is easily fitted to your existing dish, as long as you can reach it. Keep the cable as short as possible.0

I have used just under 10m of standard coaxil and the picture on the second set is quite snowy. OK for quarter of an hour before bed but it does get on my nervs if I want to watch anythin any longer.
Now I know what the problem is it is now on my to do list to upgrade the cableing :O)0
