    I have an agreement in principle from my lender and use my own IFA that I have used for years. I explained this to Bellway but they still insisted that I call this company called New Homes Group so that I could get pre-approved.

    We too bought through Bellway and were asked to use the New Homes Mortgage Helpline. One of their guys came round and took our details, but he wrote a lot of things down incorrectly, including the address of the property to be mortgaged! I got my red pen out and corrected all the mistakes and sent it back, but the revised summary we then received still had mistakes. So I had to write a letter to them listing each mistake. I mean seriously, how difficult can it be!
    Everything went through fine in the end and we were able to take out a mortgage with Nationwide; but I'm just saying, check through the details THOROUGHLY.

    Personally I would prefer to keep the sellers and the mortgage provider separate. It stinks of corruption to me. Let me guess the builders mortgage provider survey will agree with the asking price.;)

    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
