FairFX pre-pay = ATM Withdrawal PROBLEMS

in Credit cards
I have used these cards for a long time now and of late have been having problems obtaining cash from the small cabinet type ATM machines you get in shops.
I have emailed FairFX and to be honest they have been aweful generally saying 'we didnt see any failed transactions'
I did get one slightly helpful email which stated:-
"Bank Machine have confirmed that the functionality of MasterCard is turned off at around 40% of their ATMs even though the symbol is displayed. This explains why your withdrawal attempts did not work"
I would think that Mastercard have pretty strict rules about use of there logo and network and I have emailed them to query but no updates yet.
The machines i have had problems with are:-
Bank Machine Ltd
YourCash
Nat West
I am attempting to escalate these problems through Newcastle Building Society who are in charge of the cards.

Are these machines in the UK only? I have never had a problem with mine, although I only ever use it abroad (Italy, Germany, France and Spain), and nearly always use ATMs at a bank.0

yup uk, i use a sterling card here as a backup.
i am really disappointed the way they dealt with my enquiries, basically "not our problem!" then stopped replying at allPLAY GOOD!

Why not get a card from a bank where they have branches and infrastructure to deal with problems like this?0

its complicated and i use it here and abroad
BUT
thats not the point of the thread. Handling of problems is a basic business task which they aint doing, Newcastle Building Society are behind the service so speaking to them as well.PLAY GOOD!

It looks to me that the problem is out of their control - you need a different card IMO.0

I apologise, I did omit the final bit of there one meaningful response
""Bank Machine have confirmed that the functionality of MasterCard is turned off at around 40% of their ATMs even though the symbol is displayed. This explains why your withdrawal attempts did not work"
"We are investigating"
but not even the courtesy of a reply or update, basic business etiquette.PLAY GOOD!

They are a very small fish in a massive pond - who would they contact etc etc0

I doubt either the bank machine network or Mastercard care enough about FairFX sterling users to radically shake-up their service provision - there isn't really much they can do.
Is it really that much of an issue though? Although you don't want to go into it, as someone pointed out, it isn't the most sensible way of managing your money for UK usage. Regardless, there are thousands of ATMs all over the place, now you know this can't you just avoid them? Unless you're in the middle of nowhere it should be easy to find alternatives.0
